JURISTICTIONS

The world of Midian falls under three jurisdictions.

THE UNION AEROSPACE CORPERATION: This is the world government. It is the ultimate law.

THE MIDIAN POLICE DEPARTMENT: This is a security force hired by the mayor of Midian to protect the mayor's buildings and property.

THE MIDIAN PARK RANGERS: A private security force that protects the park. Hired by the mysterious foreign owners of the park.

No officer may cross into a Jurisdiction with out authorization from the Jurisdiction leader.

This of course may provide loopholes for criminals being pursued, but this is good for roleplay and gives an officer a "legitimate" reason not to pursue a criminal.

UAC JURISTICTION: ALL of Leviathan and South Apocalypse beyond the UAC bunker.

MPD JURISTICTION: ALL of Midian City Excluding Park Property. All of North Apocalypse Excluding Park Property.

MIDIAN PARK RANGERS: All of Midian Park in Apocalypse and the south east corner of Midian denoted by park signs.

LAWS

NO jurisdiction cares about people.
Crimes such as murder and torture are common place.
All Jurisdictions exist SOLEY to protect property.

A crime committed on the high street could start a riot, so starting a fight or shooting someone in public WILL get you arrested if you are caught. By committing a highly visible crime in public you consent to an officer of the jurisdiction attempting to stop you.

Crimes committed in private or secluded areas are not considered crimes.

No law enforcement agency "investigates" crimes of a personal nature.
If you got raped, suck it up. Reporting it may just get you raped by an officer of the jurisdiction.

DETENTION

LONG TERM

The only facility to hold prisoners long term is the detention center in Leviathan (THE NEW SIM).


Leviathan does accept cross jurisdiction prisoners. Though it is controlled by the UAC.
The Maximum incarceration time in leviathan detention center is 1 week. The cells are designed in zoo like fashion.
Citizens are encouraged to visit the detention center to see the inmates. Goading, name calling and jeering by visitors is strongly encouraged.

The Maximum penalty in the Detention center is Death via the electric chair. ((though it must OOC be requested by the player who is to be executed))


SHORT TERM

The MPD, The UAC Bunker and The Park rangers all have Cells. These cells can only hold a prisoner for a maximum of 24 hours. These cells are used ONLY to give a person time to calm down.
